Pioneer Pleasant Vale Academic Foundation
WHO WE ARE:
The Pioneer-Pleasant Vale Academic Foundation is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization, founded in 2004 by individuals who believe in the value of education. By establishing a private partnership with the Pioneer-Pleasant Vale school system, PPVAF is dedicated to enhancing the classroom experience for students and to providing supplemental funding programs that might otherwise be financially out of reach.
The Pioneer-Pleasant Vale Academic Foundation is committed to promoting these high standards of excellence by rewarding innovative instruction through our Grants to Teachers program. Grants for Teachers can enable an instructor to change the dynamics of learning so that concepts come alive for students, creativity is sparked, and a passion for lifelong learning is ignited.
HOW WE MAKE IT HAPPEN:
The support of individuals and businesses in our community is the backbone of PPVAF. Individuals, businesses, corporations and foundations may support PPVAF through donations, memorials, honorariums and teacher tributes. Together with funds raised by annual fund raising events, these gifts are put to work in the Pioneer-Pleasant Vale classrooms, in the form of materials and academic programs. These gifts are tax deductible.
Each year grant requests are submitted by classroom teachers and are evaluated by a Foundation Grant Committee. Grants are screened by the committee, and the recipients are contacted and publicly acknowledged for their innovative project. The funds are then put to work in the classroom, illustrating ideas, promoting creativity and encouraging critical thinking.
